Madison Park expands futher into Pacific Northwest with acquisition of Westline in Beaverton

Madison Park continues to expand its Pacific Northwest portfolio with the acquisition of Westline, formerly known as Rise @ Old Town. Westline is a brand new, stylishly appointed 89-unit apartment building located along the transit and amenity rich Canyon Road corridor in Beaverton.

Completed in 2018, the asset is Madison Park's fifth acquisition in the Portland metropolitan area. Last fall, Madison Park acquired Hygge in Portland's Inner East Side District.

Town29 Named San Francisco Business Times' Real Estate Deal of the Year 2018

The long-awaited Town29 apartment project is one of Oakland’s largest in a decade. Originally approved with fewer homes back in 2007, the project was stalled by the recession. But the wait paid off because the development team was able to get new approvals for a bigger project.

The demand for more homes was clearly present: Town29 was fully leased within five months of opening last year.

Exclusive: Oakland's largest apartment project since 2011 opens to strong demand

Oakland's largest new apartment building since 2011 is now leasing – and filling up fast. The 162-unit project at 2919 Telegraph Ave., branded as Town29, leased 53 units out of its first phase of 62 units since marketing began in March. The remaining 100 units will open on May 15.

Madison Park, a developer of innovative, urban mixed-use properties, announced today the $55M acquisition of Bridgetown Lofts, a 149-unit mid-rise apartment community in Portland’s Pearl District.

This is Madison Park’s third Portland metropolitan area acquisition since entering the market in 2017 with the purchase of Cannery Row and Moreland Crossing.

Prolific Oakland developer is bullish on new apartments in Jingletown

One of Oakland’s most prolific housing developers, John Protopappas of Madison Park Financial, will kick off leasing next month for 63 apartments at 401 Derby St. in Oakland’s Jingletown neighborhood.

The $25 million development is expected to welcome residents in September as a wave of new housing crests in Oakland.

3900 Adeline Named San Francisco Business Times' Real Estate Deal of the Year 2015

Of the 34 winners in this year's awards, seven were housing projects. These new apartments and condos — both affordable and market-rate — were completed in 2015 and span San Francisco, the Peninsula and the East Bay. They stood out for many reasons.

Signature's Hive and Madison Park Financial's 3900 Adeline were the only two major market-rate projects completed in Oakland last year.

Oakland pioneer doubles residential pipeline with three new projects

Madison Park Financial Corp., developer of Oakland's only market-rate housing project in 2014, is planning to build three additional projects with a combined budget of $88 million. The projects double Madison Park's residential pipeline to six projects valued at roughly $200 million.

The developer is already planning three other projects in West Oakland and Fruitvale totaling 230 units, with a focus on underutilized and vacant sites where it can add more density.

Lampwork Lofts Named San Francisco Business Times' Real Estate Deal of the Year 2014 - Market Rate Residential

It took John Protopappas nearly three decades to build Lampwork Lofts, but only three months to completely lease it. Protopappas’ Madison Park Financial Corp. survived multiple real estate downturns and government regulations to revive the historic building, which was Oakland’s only market-rate housing project that opened in 2014.

Lampwork Lofts Project Illuminating West Oakland

One of the most ambitious developments in West Oakland since the financial crisis struck is nearing completion and could brighten a broader but low voltage neighborhood revitalization. Lampwork Lofts, a $25.2 million conversion of a century-old historic factory into 92 apartments, will open its doors to residents as early as July 1.

Redevelopment of the four-story former light bulb factory could go a long way toward sprucing up the community, which has battled decay and blight for decades.

B3 Lofts Named San Francisco Business Times' Real Estate Deal of the Year 2013 - Market Rate Residential

In 2012, no one was building market-rate housing in Oakland — except John Protopappas of Madison Park Financial. The developer started construction on the 79-unit Bakery Lofts 3 after years of struggling to line up financing.

Protopappas, who has been building housing in Oakland for about three decades, believed his project would succeed if he could just get it under construction, but lenders balked at investing in Oakland after the recession.
